Monterey and Carmel

MONTEREY & CARMEL, U.S.A.

The bird you see there! that's Seagull, also called "Gull". Long yellow beak, Black eyeballs and black and white wings; This bird was not less beautiful than any swan; It's squeaky voice left aside for once. "Human is nature's best creation" we say, but all the litter and wrappers proved the quotation wrong. These Seagulls were feeding themselves on the leftover potato chips and other snacks left by visitors. Pebble Beach was overall a beautiful place, which gave accommodation to all the Seagulls. The Sea-lions fell sun-bathing on a distant rock also called "Bird Rock", which was, too blur, even for a 63X Zoom. Proud golfers were seen showcasing their skills near the Pebble Beach.

The squirrels were playing hide and seek with the people, but they could not resist the food that people lured them with, to get a perfect picture. An old Lady almost offered the squirrels a feast, A packet full of nuts! Enjoying food by the bay, is almost an everyday privilege for these animals, which most of the people consider a well planned and decorated event. Fascinating, isn't it?

A few minutes drive, and there stands tall, the "LONE CYPRESS". They say that this tree is more than 200 years old. It is also known as Monterey Cypress and its biological name is Cupressus Macrocarpa. These trees are said to be found only at this place. These trees are protected from extinction by planting them in California and other places. This tree has survived wind and storms for years and is glowing with wisdom everyday.

Further, there was a Dead Tree. The name led to my assumption that it should be a broken, fallen, dried tree, but, to my surprise, it stood there, Dead, but alive in some way, attracting the tourists. The leaves are shredded by the nature, but the Glory stays.

This place was a perfect example of beauty, however, we tried to escape a huge gang of tourists trying to encroach our photography space. Walking on the streets of Carmel was another treat. Galleries, cafes, bakeries and shops made the visit worthy. This is Monterey and Carmel.

Further, our journey in the U.S.A. continued....
